Pizza Salon: Art Writers Focus Group Open Call
Pizza Salon is the inaugural gathering of a new initiative by Civil Art, co-hosted with September Magazine, aimed at strengthening networks among art writers, curators, and historians within the API creative community. Designed as an informal salon and focus group, the event brings together emerging and established voices to exchange perspectives on current challenges, unmet needs, and opportunities for mentorship, access, and professional development. Through open conversation and shared reflection, the gathering supports Civil Art’s long-term goal of building a sustainable pipeline for emerging art writers, fostering intergenerational connection, and cultivating writing as a practice rooted in care, community, and collective growth.

Fall 2025 Internship Program
Civil Art is currently seeking three interns for Spring 2026. This internship program offers three tracks (Programming, Design & Marketing, Video & Media) over three months, structured as remote or hybrid roles. The positions are unpaid but school credit is available. Designed for college students and recent graduates seeking early career development and mentorship, the program is ideal for candidates who are passionate about uplifting API voices in the arts and bring relevant experience in their area of focus. Art House Open Call
Art House is Civil Art’s emerging artist incubator program supporting recently graduated Asian Pacific Islander (API) artists through mentorship, accessibility, and professional opportunities during their transition to life in New York City. Built with flexibility at its core, the program offers adaptable, artist-centered support, including 1–2 professional development workshops or resource-sharing sessions per month, access to free and low-cost arts programming across the city, and individualized scheduling when needed. The 2025–2026 cohorts are guaranteed a group exhibition at Latitude Gallery in NYC in Q4 2025, reinforcing Art House’s role as a bridge to visibility and career sustainability. Created by artists for artists, the program centers lived experience and community as essential foundations for long-term artistic growth.

Civil Art Youth Scholarship
Made possible with the generous support received through the Drawwing Inspiration fundraiser, Civil Art Scholarship will provide two applicants with full tuition at $4,615 to cover the Summer Intensive program at Drawwing Cabinet: Recipes of Being & Exhibition-Making.
This summer program offers an extensive learning experience for students preparing for college and young adults wanting to pursue a career in the art world. The program includes a curated series of visiting artist lectures, field trips, hands-on workshops, one-on-one guidance from experts and professionals, artist statement writing tutorials, and an exciting exhibition opportunity at GOBI in August. At the end of this 6-week intensive, participating students will have (1) created a cohesive body of work that is reflective of their own personal, social, and/or historical context, (2) gained practical skills needed to produce an exhibition (or a portfolio) from beginning to end, and (3) received personalized guidance on how to continue their academic and career journeys.
