Fall 2025 Internship Program
Application Deadline: October 3, 2025We are currently seeking three interns for Fall 2025. This internship program offers three tracks over three months, structured as remote or hybrid roles. The positions are unpaid but school credit is available. Designed for college students and recent graduates seeking early career development and mentorship, the program is ideal for candidates who are passionate about uplifting API voices in the arts and bring relevant experience in their area of focus. Applicants should be based in New York.

Hours: 15–18 hours per week (flexible)
Compensation: Unpaid; school credit available
EXHIBITION & PROGRAMMING
What You’ll Do:
- Exhibition/Event Coordination: Liaising with artists, galleries, institutions, or other venues to support pre-production and production.
- Registrar: Manage and maintain records of artworks, sponsorships, and exhibition/event-related information.
- Educational Event: Research and identify API artists with current exhibitions for potential social media features and collaborations.
- Newsletter Maintenance: Support upkeep and updates for Civil Art’s audiences.
- Database Management: Organize and update internal project databases, keeping information clear and accessible.
- General Support: Participate in team meetings, contribute to brainstorming sessions, and assist with day-to-day administrative tasks.
Qualifications:
- Recently graduated or currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program (school credit required).
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop), Google Workspace, and
presentation platforms such as Pitch (or similar) is strongly preferred. - Strong writing and communication skills.
- Organized, detail-oriented, and able to work independently in a remote setting.
- Passionate about amplifying API voices in the arts.
DESIGN & MARKETING
What You’ll Do:
- Design & Visual Production: Create digital and print assets for Civil Art and Civil Art Publishing’s events, publications, and social media channels (Instagram, newsletters, etc.)
- Research & Content Development: Research and identify API artists with current exhibitions for potential social media features and collaborations.
- Website Maintenance: Support upkeep and updates for Civil Art’s websites.
- Database Management: Organize and update internal project databases, keeping information clear and accessible.
- Event Support: Assist with event production, including logistics, promotion, and documentation.
- General Support: Participate in team meetings, contribute to brainstorming sessions, and assist with day-to-day administrative tasks.Exhibition/Event Coordination: Liaising with artists, galleries, institutions, or other venues to support pre-production and production.

VIDEO & MEDIA
What You’ll Do:
- Video Production & Editing: Film and edit videos for virtual and in-person programs, including artist talks, panels, and exhibition walkthroughs.
- Social Media Content Creation: Develop short-form video content (e.g. reels, stories,
teasers) to support program promotion across social media platforms. - Post-Production: Manage editing timelines, incorporate motion graphics or subtitles when needed, and export content in required formats.
- Archival Support: Organize and maintain an archive of video assets for internal use and external promotion.
- General Support: Participate in team meetings, contribute to brainstorming sessions, and assist with day-to-day administrative tasks.
Qualifications:
- Recently graduated or currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program (school credit required).
- Students pursuing degrees in Film, Media Studies, Communications, Art, or a related field are preferred but not required.
- Strong video editing skills and prior editing experience are required.
- Experience with Adobe Premiere Pro is highly preferred.
- Comfortable filming and editing content independently.
- Strong sense of visual storytelling and a passion for the arts—especially in ways that resonate with API communities.
- Organized, detail-oriented, and able to work independently in a remote setting.
- Passionate about amplifying API voices in the arts.

Art House
Application Deadline: July 7, 2025Art House is an emerging artist incubator program that provides mentorship, accessibility, and opportunities for recently graduated Asian Pacific Islander (API) artists. By providing equitable opportunities, accessibility and visibility, Art House becomes a bridge for local API emerging artists in their adjustment year to the city. 2025-2026 Cohorts will be guaranteed a group exhibition at Latitude Gallery in NYC in Q4 2025.

Art House is built with flexibility at its core, making it an ideal space for recently graduated emerging artists. We understand that life after graduation often comes with a mix of responsibilities, commitments, and uncertainty. That’s why Civil Art’s incubator program is designed to meet artists where they are—offering adaptable support that fits a range of schedules and evolving life situations.
Throughout the incubation cycle, professional development workshops and resource-sharing sessions will be scheduled in close coordination with the cohort to ensure maximum participation and engagement. On average, artists can expect 1–2 workshops or events per month, in addition to ongoing access to free and accessible exhibitions, events, and opportunities across New York City. Individual workshops will also be tailored to accommodate each member’s unique schedule.
Art House is created by artists, for artists—with a deep understanding of the challenges, nuances, and perseverance required to build both a dream and a career.

ABOUT ART HOUSEThe Art House Open Call is open for submission from 6/11 - 7/7 and receiving applications from artists who meet the following eligibility:
Applicants must have graduated/are graduating from an arts degree program within the past year (Class of 2024/2025), identify as Asian Pacific Islander (API), and maintain an active fine art practice with the intention of presenting at fine art galleries and institutions at a professional level. Due to the nature of in-person workshops and activities, the program is open to artists who are residing in or relocating to New York City, as well as those who have regular access to the five boroughs—including artists based in parts of New Jersey, Connecticut, and upstate New York. However, for the sake of accessibility and program efficacy, priority will be given to applicants living in NYC.
Art House is built to provide equitable opportunities to API emerging artists and all submitted applications will be reviewed under the criteria of merit and the quality of artwork and statements provided below, the potential impact Art House could have on your career trajectory, and the sincerity and professionalism in the application materials. Please fill out all required fields, and we highly encourage you to complete every section, even those not marked as mandatory. For this inaugural cycle of Art House, Civil Art will be selecting up to 8 candidates. Results will be announced mid-July, and we deeply appreciate you taking the time to fill out our application. Candidates who are not accepted into the program will still be considered for future Civil Art opportunities.
Civil Art Youth Scholarship
Application Deadline: June 22, 2025Made possible with the generous support received through the Drawwing Inspiration fundraiser, Civil Art Scholarship will provide two applicants with full tuition at $4,615 to cover the Summer Intensive program at Drawwing Cabinet: Recipes of Being & Exhibition-Making.
ABOUT DRAWWING CABINET Drawwing Cabinet is an artist-run school dedicated to fostering creative stakeholders. With a focus on visual thinking, contemporary relevance, and conceptual development, we provide art classes for K-12 students, college consulting for arts admissions, workshops for all ages, and education programs for corporations and organizers.
ABOUT DRAWWING CABINET SUMMER INTENSIVES7/1–8/8, Tuesdays to Fridays, 9 am–3 pm
This summer program offers an extensive learning experience for students preparing for college and young adults wanting to pursue a career in the art world. The program includes a curated series of visiting artist lectures, field trips, hands-on workshops, one-on-one guidance from experts and professionals, artist statement writing tutorials, and an exciting exhibition opportunity at GOBI in August. At the end of this 6-week intensive, participating students will have (1) created a cohesive body of work that is reflective of their own personal, social, and/or historical context, (2) gained practical skills needed to produce an exhibition (or a portfolio) from beginning to end, and (3) received personalized guidance on how to continue their academic and career journeys.
