Civil Art Youth Scholarship
Application Deadline: June 22, 2025Made possible with the generous support received through the Drawwing Inspiration fundraiser, Civil Art Scholarship will provide two applicants with full tuition at $4,615 to cover the Summer Intensive program at Drawwing Cabinet: Recipes of Being & Exhibition-Making.
ABOUT DRAWWING CABINET
Drawwing Cabinet is an artist-run school dedicated to fostering creative stakeholders. With a focus on visual thinking, contemporary relevance, and conceptual development, we provide art classes for K-12 students, college consulting for arts admissions, workshops for all ages, and education programs for corporations and organizers.
ABOUT DRAWWING CABINET SUMMER INTENSIVES
7/1–8/8, Tuesdays to Fridays, 9 am–3 pm
This summer program offers an extensive learning experience for students preparing for college and young adults wanting to pursue a career in the art world. The program includes a curated series of visiting artist lectures, field trips, hands-on workshops, one-on-one guidance from experts and professionals, artist statement writing tutorials, and an exciting exhibition opportunity at GOBI in August. At the end of this 6-week intensive, participating students will have (1) created a cohesive body of work that is reflective of their own personal, social, and/or historical context, (2) gained practical skills needed to produce an exhibition (or a portfolio) from beginning to end, and (3) received personalized guidance on how to continue their academic and career journeys.
TIMELINE
- Application closes on June 22, 2025 at 11:59 PM.
- Results will be announced by June 25, 2025 via email.
- Summer Intensive program starts on July 1, 2025.
ELIGIBILITY
- Applicant information
- 2-5 work samples (cannot be works created at Drawwing Cabinet)
- A short questionnaire of 5 questions
*The application form takes about 30 minutes to 1 hour to complete.
