Drawwing Inspiration was a fundraising event in collaboration with Drawwing Cabinet hosted by ELOREA, Los Angeles to support arts education for underserved API youth. The event offered a first glimpse of Civil Art X Christie’s Night Market: The Exchange of Dreams, a publication featuring trailblazing Asian Pacific Islander creatives.

ABOUT DRAWWING CABINET
Drawwing Cabinet is an artist-run educational studio in La Crescenta, CA. Through offering classes and workshops, Drawwing Cabinet creates a space where aspiring, emerging, and established artists share skills, ideas, and resources. Drawwing Cabinet seeks to build a pluralistic platform where a multitude of creative thinkers intersect and continue to mutually inspire and support one another.

IMPACT

Through the fundraising initiatives set by Drawwing Inspiration, Civil Art supported two students’ participation in Drawwing Cabinet’s 6-week Summer Intensives program tuition-free. In addition, proceeds were contributed towards the development of Learning Lab, an educational art video series co-created by Civil Art and Drawwing Cabinet.

Set to launch in 2026, Learning Lab is an accessible and inclusive educational platform produced by Civil Art and Drawwing Cabinet. Each video features various API artists, critical theory, scholarship, personal narratives, and artistic material for inspiration.

“Giving Forward”

Civil Art invited Su Min Park (Founder of ELOREA), Jenny Eom (Artist at Drawwing Cabinet), Devin Kang (Creative Director at Noend Denim), and David Wynn (Co-founder of Process and Practice), who are featured in Night Market: The Exchange of Dreams, to share insights into their creative practices and personal journeys. From distilling perfumes to styling artists, our speakers spoke about their creative visions and the importance of weaving the tapestry of greater API and POC representation.

Student Exhibition

The opening exhibition celebration for Night Market gathered Civil Art’s community to engage with artworks, artists, and community stakeholders. The event highlighted local culinary artists from Hōseki, Naro, and Nudibranch.
