Civil Art invited Sagarika Sundaram, Jeffrey Kim, and Haoran Chen to share their motivations and creative philosophies. Sagarika Sundaram is a New York-based artist whose bold, tactile abstractions investigate the relationship between materiality and the human psyche. Jeffrey Kim is the chef and co-founder of Nudibranch, an innovative restaurant blending Korean and Spanish cuisines to reflect the diversity of New York City. Haoran Chen is a DJ and co-founder of 929, a Canto and Mando-pop-inspired cocktail bar channeling Chinese diasporic nostalgia in New York. Specialists in their respective fields, our panelists brought a slice of their expertise to the Hotel Boutique, inspiring greater API and POC representation.
